How long has the band been together ? - Wedding band Scotland Mixed Emotion have been playing together for over 19 years. And Colin and Tammy have been married for 18 of those, so there's no danger of us splitting up. We have been providing entertainment for Weddings, Birthday Parties, Anniversaries, and Balls and pretty much know the secrets to keeping the dancefloor full all night and raise the roof with our 'unique' Grande Finale!!!

How many Vocalists and how do you cover illness ? - Scottish Wedding Band Mixed Emotion have 3 vocalists providing harmonies and all singing lead so we're not going to let you down if one of us has a cold. Three vocals make a huge difference to the sound of the band and the range of songs which we can sing utilising the male and female voices.

How much space do you need ? - We play a range of venues from intimate rooms to town halls and we have a range of amplification and speakers to suit the venue without being too loud. We can also fit into the tiniest of spaces as well as fill the largest of stages.

Can you provide a Ceilidh ? Traditional Scottish music is a great ice breaker for many weddings and we have listed the standard sets within the playlist, and we will guide your dancers through the basic dances. We can play about 60mins and all the music is live and we don't use cds. This is normally included for no extra cost. If you don't want ceilidh simply let us know, however it is such a good icebreaker at weddings and we'll talk everyone through.

What happens during the break ? - Mixed Emotion take their break to suit the client normally when your buffet is served. There's no need for a disco as we provide music whether it be background or something lively to keep the party atmosphere going, we can accommodate your requirements. We can also offer the use of our PA system for your own ipod during the break if required at no extra cost.

Does the Band have Public Liability Insurance and have there equipment checked for safety annualy ? - Mixed Emotion are members of the Musicians Union and have full insurance through "Musicguard" and take on stage safety very seriously, we have to as Colin is NEBOSH qualified and offers Safety Consultancy services to a number of other businesses. A growing number of venues will not allow bands to perform unless these requirements are in place.

How do you dress on stage ? Mixed Emotion will dress to suit any occasion from evening wear to dinner suits and ball gowns. We will also arrive at your venue in clearly identified smart shirts so you and the venue staff will know who we are.

What equipment do you have ? Think about how the band will look at your venue. If its a cosy function suite for 50 guests do you want speakers up to the ceiling and flashing lights in your eyes, or similarly how will the stage and dance floor look, as many venues have no stage lights or even a stage?

Mixed Emotion have coloured flood lighting for the stage and background lighting, and also sound controlled effects lighting to liven up the dance area. We carry a full spare PA system to every function so we don't let you down in case of an unlikely fault. All equipment is normally no more than 3 years old to maintain the highest audio/visual quality. 

How Long does it take to set-up ? For weddings it normally takes 45 - 60mins to set up a room for the evening guests after the meal. - Mixed Emotion have streamlined the set-up process to 45 mins from entry to the function and 10mins to get changed. We will always make contact with the venue to assess the set-up requirements to minimise disruption to your function.

Can we pick our first dance ? - We will learn any first dance for all functions and if you have any special songs you would like, or don't like, we will accommodate or we can play your CD or ipod if you wish. The song list shown here is only a sample of what we can do. We can also provide a studio recording of your first song to practice your dancing to and to give to your DVD company or photographer. We can even learn and studio record a song with your own lyrics as many couples now wish to tailor their first song to them, just ask for details.

Are Discounts Available ? - Naturally demand is higher for Friday & Saturdays during the Summer months, so we can offer competitive prices for midweek or out of season functions. We can also augment the line-up with additional musicians or reduce to a duo if required. Prices are based on 8:00pm to 12:00 Midnight with a 30min break. Extra time is negotiable, but must be agreed prior to the event.
